Ron Shaw Bio
A native of Perth, Ontario, Ron W. Shaw studied journalism at Algonquin College, Ottawa and worked for a number of years as a reporter for newspapers, radio and television in northern and western Ontario.
From 1974 Shaw was employed by various Canadian and American NGOs, and development/relief consulting firms. Over 35 years he lived in Angola, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Jordan, Niger, South Africa, Tchad, Uganda, and the USA, and worked for shorter periods in another 31 countries in Africa, Asia, South America and the Caribbean.
He is the author of seven history books, most related to the Perth (Ontario) Military Settlement, as well as a collection of short fiction.
